Erie Community College understands that a well-trained workforce is the key to success for businesses, corporations and service organizations. In order to meet the needs of the local business community, ECC offers retraining and workforce development programs, and establishes and maintains strong partnerships with local corporations. Programs such as the Ford Motor Company ASSET Program offer education and employment opportunities to Western New York residents through job-specific training and internships at local businesses.

Erie Community College also offers a wide range of community education services for individuals seeking to enhance and improve their professional and personal skills. The Community Education Department continuously initiates and develops seminars, workshops, courses and related activities that provide students, employees, and community members with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and update their skills. ECC offers over 600 credit-free courses through its community education catalog which reaches 60,000 households each year.

Other services and programs, such as driver education, professional truck driver training, and motorcycle training, are provided by ECC as a service to the residents of Western New York, and contribute to the strength and vitality of the local community.
